I am in my fifth year living at Overture West Ashley. I am very happy with my apartment and the amenities offered. It's comforting to know that if I have an issue requiring our maintenance team, they are here in a timely manner. No worries living here, not to mention the friendly neighbors I have met.

Due to circumstances, I had to change account info for the rp to pay my rent. I have entered the new information 4 times. When the service charged my rent , it was denied. That happened more times. I have been charged $30. For NSF 2 times. There is no excuse for this happening. I want the charges for NSF reversed. This was their processing error, not mine.

As an over-55 widow, what I appreciate most about Overture West Ashley is the opportunity, in a beautiful setting, to make new friends and develop a support system for those of us who are alone. The management team is very much a part of the community. They have a job to do and they do it very well, they are open to suggestions and maintain a professional, caring enviroment. I am grateful to be part of this community.

Very convenient to everything I need. Friendly neighbors and a beautiful area. There are numerous activities to choose from and numerous exercise classes. There is a beautiful nature trail to walk on and a deck out over a tidal creek. It is a very quite and serene place.

So happy to have found Overture West Ashley three years ago. Moving to a new state, in itself, was an adjustment for me. Moving to OWA was the best decision I ever made. Great location! Everything is easy to walk to. The exercise classes are wonderful! A real positive to have a heated pool for water aerobics. The West Ashley Greenway is a wonderful place to take a walk or ride a bike!

Place is great. Good maintenance. Public areas kept clean and in good shape. Grounds are maintained weekly. My only gripe is UPS drivers allowed to deliver to floor of front building instead of delivery to door of apartment as specified on delivery label.

Friendly happy helped with events they liked, years hear. Birds singing the greenway for biking, walking and pets. Can’t wait to take exercise in the pool. New tune, Overture, but living in Charleston 50 years.

Having never lived in an apartment before moving here, we have nothing to compare, but I cannot imagine living in a better community than Overture West Ashley. We visited many senior apartment communities prior to selling our house, but we were sold on Overture the minute we stepped inside the complex. Everyone from fellow residents to staff have been most kind and gracious towards us from when we first arrived to the present. I feel we really made the best decision to spend our retirement years here at OWA.

I LOVE living at Overture. The community is well maintained and managed. The residents are warm and friendly. As a lonely widow, I was seeking friendships, activities and camaraderie and found it all at Overture West Ashley. The management staff are professional, helpful and engaging. They often participate in some of the activities along with the residents.

I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoy living at Overture West Ashley. My home is beautiful and a lot of thought was given to the layout and design, making it spacious as well at comfortable. The Community Director and leasing staff are wonderful, they are kind and listen to concerns and needs and do everything they can to make things better. Maintenance staff ensures the property is beautifully maintained they are quick to take care of any problem and to actually explain what they did. I think it shows care for the actual property. We are lucky to have an Activities Director that works hard to schedule events, to secure speakers for interesting topics and arrange tours and activities off property. There is always something going on here!

I love living here. I am able to walk to grocery stores and restaurants, a library, and many retail stores. Right nest to the Greenway for walking and biking. The heated pool with water aerobics and the stretch and balance classes are awesome!

I have lived at OWA for 8 months now and I have to say it has been a great experience! I am now learning to play pickle ball and it is so much fun. I have been here for 50 years, brought up our children. I walked in, and I felt like I was home. J the leasing management did an excellent job that was, friendly, professional, and a good listener. I am looking forward to being part of this community. My visit gave me so much hope, I did a lot of volunteer work at one time. And with these different events, I feel that I will be able to be part of something that feeds the soul. Thank you for listening.

My wife and I have recently moved here from selling our home in Downtown Charleston. Our experience so far has been wonderful! I have been here a year and still love my apartment, the complex, and the friends I've made. I have gotten involved in some of the exercise programs as well as attend educatonal programs frequently. While we've had some staff turnover (like any other complex), those who are here are dedicated to their jobs and making life good for the residents. The addition of the new community manager, Liz, has been great.

OWA is well sited on a beautiful and quiet property close to a grocery store and many restaurants…some within walking distance. It is also well managed with some nice events and food functions. Operational maintenance is good and it is obvious a lot of money is spent on landscaping, but the building’s ’ interior cosmetics are beginning to look tired. Elevators are a chronic problem that is really annoying to those of us who live on high floors. This property is marketed as a 55+ “active adult” community but its location and amenities are better suited to an older group who are less active and aging gracefully…that should really be the marketing target; sort of a halfway house between fully independent living and a progressive care community. That market will be growing rapidly when the baby boomers get a little older and the huge influx of retirees continue migrate here.

We have lived at OWA since it opened. We like the quiet setting between a scenic greenway and a salt water marsh with wading birds all within walking distance to a small shopping center and many dining spots. The current management team at OWA is great as are the social functions. We think that the current housekeeping service needs improvement because it has deteriorated over the last six months, particularly in and adjacent to the elevators. The paddings in the elevators should be taken down sooner after a move in-out because they are unsightly, as are the elevator floors.

I love living here but do not understand how Greystar could have allowed a Contractor to build structures with so many flaws. I am especially disturbed by the lack of security in that doors and gates are unlocked and have been for months, supposedly because parts are never available for repairs. The landscape crew is pathetic, allowing bushes to be overgrown and never groomed . They are dying all over the property and all the supposed landscapers do is blow leaves. We need crews with knowledgeable foremen.

Maintenance issues re access via gates is annoying because the community app doesn’t work properly. After 5 years here there have been no cosmetic refreshments to the apartment such as painting, carpeting, etc.

Activities offered on daily basis, no idle time. Facility is spotless. Club room is great for workouts. Mgt. needs to have more helpers. Trash pickup is too costly. Some of us don't need it.

I have lived at Overture West Ashley since the beginning prior to the Pandemic. It has changed a lot since that time -- especially management. I think, now, we have had six different managers. It is a good place to live. My favorite is the pool when it is heated and useable. Love that feature.

The complex is beautiful and well-located. Staff (leasing, management, and maintenance) are top-notch and totally receptive to residents' needs. However, I am disappointed that a three-year-old building has major issues, for example, access doors to the building were not operational for an extended period of time, and elevators not working for an extended period of time, at least three weeks (which means walking to the other end of the building while carrying groceries in 100 heat, challenging at best, for some residents, brutal). I am also disappointed that while the living space appears luxurious at first glance, I find that for a 5'5" woman, the closet rails, and the shower head are almost unreachable. I had to order a special extension to be able to control the shower head. And the top shelves of all my cabinets are going unused due to the fact I cannot reach them without using a step stool, which is never a good option.

Best spot for thriving in the Lowcountry! The Lifestyle Coordinator creates an atmosphere like “Day Camp”. A lot of fun for everyone! The staff is professional…my only reason for giving 4.5 stars is that there always room for improvement!

I love the peace and quiet of OWA, nestled between the marshes and the Greenway while being within walking distance of wha is necessary. The management staff is on top of everything, even when some residents take undue advantage of their privileges…and they are friendly.

We have been here since Overture opened and we are happy with our apartment, its beautiful and handy location, the recreational facilities and helpful staff. However, we live on the 4th floor and it is becoming very tiresome when the elevators don’t work; this has been going on for a long time. I also think that the housekeeping and maintenance is not what it used to be. I understand the management issues with some tenants who abuse the food and beverage amenities and don’t pick up after their pets, thereby spoiling things for the rest of us. Is there some way that I and the other residents can help management with this problem?

Enjoy the community. Enjoy being close to family. Some of the things in the unit could have been done more thoughtfully-for example showers and hanging poles are too high for many of the residents and carpets aren’t very durable. Also light switches in master bath are located behind the entrance door.

Great location! This low rating is because it is an unsafe place for elderly residents to live. Our building entry doors are broken/unlocked, and security gates are broken/open. This unsafe situation has existed for more than 3 months. Intruders could enter any of our buildings, rob and/or assault an elderly resident. We pay top dollar to live here and expect it to be safe from predators.
