I have enjoyed living here at Overture Daniel Island. The current team is hard working, caring and responsive to the needs of the residents. My concern is that the property has been sold to a new company and nothing formal has been said to any of the residents. This has led to rumor and speculation that could easily have been avoided by a well timed meeting or at least an email. The new regime will be taking over within the next few weeks and we have no idea what that transition will entail. Nor do we have any indication of what the new administration's plans will be for the property or its residents. This is disappointing to say the least and I hope the situation is remedied prior to our current team leaving. We will miss them all and wish them luck. We only hope the new owners are just as invested in our community and happiness.

Nothing has changed i absolutely love it here. My apartment is perfect. It's smallest but it is just right for me and my sewing/quilting! I am really blessed to have the best maintenance staff a nd office staff on Daniel Island and i sincerely pray we continue to do so Charleston is an amazing city. Cares Committee provides Charleston philanthropy volunteering giving back to our community and neighborhoods. Whether it's gathering around the pool, having breakfast in the great room, meeting friends on the island, or volunteering at our local soup kitchen; boredom and isolation are not words in our vocabulary. The tranquility and peacefulness of living here is special beyond words.

we have a wonderful staff and our manager cares for our community as did our previous manager. i cannot complain as i believe we here at Overture are blessed to live-in a 55+ active community. we have many activities to choose from including getting outside and enjoying our beautiful island! I really enjoy living here. My previous residence where i resided my entire life was also very beautiful and having never lived in an apartment before i am finding this to be a very fun place to live and call home, forever i hope!!

Their concern to react to possible emergencies professionally and compassionately and with safe measures is comforting and assuring for our family's concern. The Apartment community is extremel friendly, supportive and family like. Residents are always willing to help each other, offering assistance whenever required or needed. I am very encouraged. Michael, our new community manager, has already made of very positive impact. The property is looking and feeling fresher and cleaner. He is involved all around the community and is offering educational options we have not had before. The activities have increased. Wind Up is a good social time from 4-6 on Wednesdays just to have pleasant conversations and to catch up with many new residents. There are many clubs and activities to get involved.

Very easy to fill out paperwork for lease. I am really enjoying the new management team! Especially, Zach! He is the best! He would give you the shirt off of his back, if it would help you. I don't think he knows the word, "No." He will just say that he would be more than happy to help. He is a really nice young man! He reminds me of my Grandson, when he was younger. Overall, great team!

I was so taken by a feelow resident coming to my aid after a fall in the parking lot. He was on his balcony and witnessed my fall. He shouted down to me notto move, that he would be down immediately to help me get up. He did just that for which I am truly grateful.

Overture Daniel Island has been a rewarding destination place for me to call home. I have enjoyed my time here but we are not enjoying the social aspect and entertainment that we once did due to staffing problems. I hope the problem will be rectified soon. Leasing prices are very high each year at renewal but not getting tenants money worth. Somewhat disappointed.

For an apartment living style, Overture is not your ordinary apartment living. The apartments are nicely arranged with uo to date features such as granite counters, large showers with safety bars, and balconies. Many ammenities are offered allowing for good comraderie among fellow redidents.

Me and my husband love it here. We love, love our unit. Also, I especially like having inside corridors, our mail and packages being inside. I love how beautiful the open spaces are. I love how wonderful the pool is and how nice the planters are with the amazing plants, and the view of the marsh with all the wildlife. It’s a great place to live. Last but not least the staff and maintenance are very helpful in anything you need.

Our apartment is wonderful with beautiful views and very quiet. The maintenance guys are right on the tickets once submitted with minor issues we’ve had since moved in. Management team and sales rep work hard and always friendly when we see them. The classes with Kristi are fun with a good workout and enjoy the social connections l have made here. Wine nights we enjoy with interesting conversations and meeting new people. Good time to catch up with old friends too. My only criticism is lack of communication such as the sign up sheets or now the football pool. Make it a consistent day of the week and make sure the sheets are out. More texts or emails generated to keep us informed would be nice so l don’t have to keep asking at the desk for information. We enjoy living on Daniel island, so much to do outside of our community with our neighbors who are a great group of people.

Everyone is so warm and friendly. I have felt very welcomed at the activities I have joined. I love sitting at the pool and was thrilled when I learned it was heated year-round. The maintenance staff is prompt, polite and friendly. The apartments and grounds are well maintained. The office staff is so attentive to any needs. This is an amazing place to live.

Zac was so kind and helpful during the "preparing to move in" portion of our move. He was so kind, patient and helpful when we were filling out the on-line application. Overture DI had an “Overture Crawl’” today March 15 from 2 to 4pm. Zoey outdid herself putting together such a fun afternoon for the residents. It was so well done with local business sponsors in charge of nine stations, serving food, cookies, and drinks. St Patrick decorations, Margarita’s, Baileys Irish Cream, beer, etc. Our Maintenance men, Robert & Scott made awesome chili. Everything was delicious. A good time was had by all! Thank you Zoey & staff.

I love living here!!! Our entire staff are caring and kind! I recently had a problem which our maintenance team had to handle and came immediately to help me. A restoration company came and all was fixed just perfectly and as quickly as humanly possible!! They all kept in touch with me making sure everything was good! I thank everyone so much! My resident experience at ODI has been wonderful for the last 18 months. The property is extremely clean and well maintained and the staff is always on hand to deal with any issues. Overture D. I. offers so many extras as opposed to a regular apartment complex. Execise programs and social activities, are just two of the reasons living here is an excellent experience. Overture Daniel Island has been my home for 2 years. Although it took a year or more to transition and adjust, I recently celebrated my second anniversary as a resident and have leased up for another year+. This in itself affirms I have come to appreciate being here in a safe environment surrounded by what I love-- nature, the nearby waterfront. walking and biking trails and a posted speed limit of 20 and 25 miles per hour. The surrounding communities with malls and grocery stores, the City of Charleston with all the cultural events, libraries are all easily accessible from Overture. The amenities and activities are diverse. The leasing team, lifestyle coordinator and maintenance team, are proficient in their jobs, knowledgeable and approachable. It is my hope that I can remain here even after my new lease expires.

I love living at Overture Daniel Island, SC. I have lived here three years this November and I consider it a true blessing that my son found this 55+active community! I have a beautiful very comfortable one bedroom apartment and it is perfect for me. My kids helped me set it up so I can sew and quilt. I discovered I can paint learning it from when Ryan Hunsaker was our event coordinator. We are so very blessed with our wonderful helpful staff of Ryan, Aleksandra, Tiffani, Zoey, Randy , soon Robert. We love our new home! This is a safe, clean community with exceptional staff. The weekly events are well thought out and always a success. We experienced the Father’s Day low country boil and ice cream truck. Both were a nice touch. We always look forward to the weekly wine tasting and brunch. We have enjoyed the free bikes and when the weather is too hot to ride or walk outdoors the fitness center is a great fill in.

Everyone is so friendly and right from the move in we felt welcome. The staff is so helpful and work hard to have fun events for all. The pool and plants around it always look nice. Randy does a great job keeping the pool clean and he works hard all day. He is so friendly to all. Tiffany always has a smile for all and is very helpful. Zoey works hard at planning fun events for our Overture family. Wine down Wednesday is fun for us as we always meet one or two new residents. We know we chose the right home. Daniel Island is special.

With each passing day, week, month and year, I have become happier and more secure in the Overture Daniel Island environment. Daniel Island itself is a beautiful place to live and surrounding areas are convenient for shopping malls, markets and cultural activities in downtown Charleston. When I drive on the Island I'm reminded of the movie, "Driving Miss Daisy" because I love the ease of the posted driving speeds of 20 - 25 miles per hour. I feel like I'm driving Miss Daisy.

I have become most secure in the beautiful Overture at Daniel Island community. It is a wonderful place to live. The surrounding areas are convenient to shopping malls, markets, theaters for the arts and entertainment as well as cultural activities in downtown Charleston. I'm yet appreciative of the posted driving speeds of 20 and 25 miles an hour. It still reminds me of the movie, "Driving Miss Daisy" because Miss Daisy liked to cruise around, not speed around. There are plenty of nature to see and photograph-- birds, ponds, flowers, Oak trees-- and walking and biking trails to enjoy. Waterfront and Smythe Parks are my 2 most favorite places to spend time -- almost on a daily basis. Four years now and counting.

Daniel Island is very nice, so many people walking or riding bikes and the trails are perfect to see the wildlife. I think there should be speed bumps in the Overture area because the older residents are walking across the street with their dogs.

I’ve lived here for three years and I’ve been very happy with the complex. I’m really not happy that the rent keeps going up, but I understand the reasoning for it. I enjoy all the amenities and the staff are very friendly. Michael has done a wonderful job since he’s been here and we enjoy dealing with him.

Overall Overture is a very nice place to live, however it needs some basic maintenance as the place id already 5 years old. I refer to basic maintenance as to keep all in a good stage.Por example if you walk the holes some of the doors need to be painted, the carports cleaned and some of the furniture upgrade or replace. This is not a complaint is a contribution to improve and correct to make Overture even a better place.

Nice pool area with cabana, you do not need to go outside to your mailbox, maintenance resolves issues in a timely manner, parking is not an issue, the grounds are kept very neat

I continue to enjoy living at Overture Daniel Island, as I've shared for 3+ years now. What more can I really say? I'm still here and have leased up for an additional 15 months. This speaks volumes, wouldn't you say? I plan to remain here for as long as I will be able to afford it. Overture and Daniel Island are wonderful and peaceful places to live. Such beautiful nature replete with walking and biking trails, and ponds. And as I mentioned in a past review, I love the posted speed of 25 miles an hour and continue to drive around like Miss Daisy.

During construction, inadequate sound dampening was installed between floors. Sounds are noticeable from the apartment above. Management is excellent. Housekeeping is well done. The maintenance staff is top notch.

Beautiful area here. Nice walking trails to see wildlife, alligators, turtles and deer and the birds. Community areas are clean. That’s the things to stay positive.

Overall it is excellent. But many of us, especially myself, are all alone with no family or friends nearby! We need more games, activities, etc. In thevevenings... especially weekends so to create more opportunities for socializing!

Overture Daniel Island is a beautiful place to live, especially if you like walking trails, biking, ponds, and green nature with beautiful flowers in the surrounding areas as much as I do. The gorgeous Waterfront Park has easily become one of my havens. At Overture you can be as involved or uninvolved as you choose to be in the sponsored activities in this community. I am looking forward to taking my exploration to another level by getting to know the Charleston area as I draw near to another lease up in a few months, marking my 3+ years as a resident.

Very well maintained building with friendly management. Response times can be slow. As with most apartments, you can hear footsteps from neighbors, music and noise in hall.

There is way too much discussion about how bad the maintenance is. From bad workmanship to lack of communication. Also how long it takes to repair the problem. I know that they are new but that reponse can only be for so long. It has been noticed they seem to be drinking alcohol while working. If this is not true then disregard this comment.

I've been a happy resident 2 1/2 years, unfortunately, things have changed. One cleaning person for the entire complex, too much for any one cleaner. The halls vacuumed once a week, debris from people moving in/out remains. The dog feces problem could be solved by DNA testing for all dogs, with a one-time fee for their owners. Obviously, the activities budget has shrunk, as now we have "KoolAid hour" and activities geared toward assisted -living facilities. Overture could feature the exercise classes more in their advertising for an ACTIVE adult clientele. Recently, friends stayed in the guest suite for 2 nights. There were no pillowcases on their pillows nor in the suite! I reported it to the manager, he explained a there'd been a miscommunication, and the STAFF cleaned the suite. He didn't apologize to my friends, nor offer compensation for their inconvenience. These conditions do not warrant the 14 percent increase Overture has tried to give me each year! Thank you

Very happy with living at Overture Daniel However, You have to get off the island for any errands. It's a place very idyllic for families, if you're not able drive it's not very Convenient.

Right now l have ceiling damage from leaking roof that’s been over a month now. Definitely not happy People who do not live here or not on leases are using the gym, the pool and are taking free fitness classes. Our residents pay for these in their rent and community fees. We have a new manager and expecting things to improve.

Dryer not operating at move in. Electrical plus that don't work. Electrical switches not correctly connected. Although these deficiencies were found, the maintenance staff worked with diligence to correct them. Still waiting for electrician.

Apartments are well maintained and staff is responsive. Nice floor plans and amenities. Clean and well kept community. The biggest issue we have is VERY loud neighbors above and below us. I know it’s an apartment, but the insulation and sound barrier between floors here is just terrible. The downstairs neighbor has a large stereo and blasts it all hours of the day. The upstairs neighbor sounds like a herd of elephants all day from around 7am-11pm. I believe the upstairs neighbor has a child in the apartment a few days a week which creates a lot of additional noise. This is a 55+ community and generally a top choice for choosing a community like this besides amenities is to have a quiet place to live. Unfortunately, this building was not constructed well to insulate the sounds of others just doing their daily living.

Most things are scheduled in day and when I go to night things I feel left out because there are so many clicks. It is sometimes hard to get with the program - when i moved in there was no introductory classes for new tenants like there are now. The place is clean and the staff are nice only problem they are typically not around at night when i get home from work and they schedule some big things in day which leaves me out.

Just received my lease renewal and not happy considering the residents have told us they had better renewals. We would have been ok if everyone had the same % but ours is much more. I think this complex wants to keep it an assisted living vs active living.

I feel that the upkeep of the property has really gone downhill. For some reason the trashcans near the side entrances were removed recently and the two near the benches in the front of the building. Just one day they were gone. The one trash can by the main entrance is always full. What a way to welcome people to our home. The landscaping under the carport in the front is a mess, so unkept with dead plants. There is a large hole in the hall ceiling outside my apt that has had a big ladder under it for over a week???? It’s still there. I am becoming very disappointed with things here at the Overature.

Since the trash cans have been removed from the side entrances, the residents have no where to throw their trash away. Because of this they are using the dog waste cans. This is very annoying!! I know that Ryan said that the trash cans were being used to throw all kinds of trash and they were overflowing. And because of this it was too much for the maintenance people to empty them. When Randy was here by himself we never had this problem. What does it take 5 minutes maybe 10 to check them. This is totally an unexpectable answer in my opinion. You guys always keep sending emails and texts about the same things over and over again. So why can’t you address this over and over again.

Need to power wash. Windows, porches, siding is filthy. Everyone is complaining about how this place is not what it used to be to be and this is the reason so many people are moving out.
